Tube bending is the process of permanently altering metal pipe or tubing to form single or multiple bends across its length. It is a process that involves knowing exactly how much pressure to apply in the right area to achieve the necessary precision for the intended application. Creating Bends in Tubing

Bends in tubing and pipes can be done freeform or use form-bound procedures, relying on the use of a pre-made die. Which process and method is used depends entirely on the specifications laid down for each particular job and the results that need to be achieved. The engineers at TubeFab Ltd have extensive experience in tube bending techniques of all types, including press bending, rotary draw bending and three roll push bending, to select the method that secures the best outcome for the client.

In some instances, for example, we will use a mandrel, a rod, usually cylindrical, which acts as a core that keeps the radius of the pipe intact while bends are formed and reduces the chances of the metal wrinkling or otherwise becoming compromised. Often, more complex designs will be completed with the aid of a computer numerically controlled (CNC) tube bending machine. Using a CNC machine ensures the higher degree of accuracy that is needed for certain projects.
